Świętoszek (Hypocrite) is one of the most sophisticated places on the culinary map of Warsaw.

The restaurant operated under the auspices of the Trade Union of Workers of Culture and Arts since 1986 and for over 20 years it was the pride and joy of the city. Renovated according to the design of eminent set designers Marcin and Mateusz Stajewski in 2018, the restaurant has been returned to the inhabitants of Warsaw and since then has defined Warsaw cuisine anew. Today, the dishes served at Świętoszek Tartuffe are an exquisite dialogue with Polish culinary tradition and a true melting pot of flavors inspired by the rich history.

Managed by Stanisław Nowogródzki, a talented chef, it is very refined and esthetically pleasing and is characterized by great respect for the roots of Polish cuisine.

“More years pass, it is time of Solidarity, De Niro comes to Poland – he is to portray Wałęsa in a film directed by Roman Polański. They go to Gdańsk, to Wałęsa, come back to Warsaw for a dinner at Świętoszek, the only representative restaurant in the Old Town back then.

There is Polański, there is Wajda, this time in person, and it so happens that I sit opposite De Niro.”
